The Borough of Seaside Park, located on the Barnegat Barrier Island in Ocean County, New Jersey, is a small town of only 0.77 square miles with a year-round population of just over 2,200 residents. Seaside Park is bordered on the north by the Borough of Seaside Heights and its amusement arcades, rides and boardwalk. To the south is South Seaside Park, which is an unincorporated section of Berkeley Township, and Island Beach State Park.
This almost two-mile-long beach has a boardwalk, perfect for quiet strolls, that runs the entire length of the borough, with a small section of boardwalk to the north devoted to games, food operators and the Funtown Pier Amusements.
Dunes covered with tall grass line the entire oceanfront, which is mostly residential and quiet. Lifeguards designate special beach sections for fishing south of H Street in between lifeguard stands.
Seaside Park has a sending/receiving relationship with the Toms River Regional Schools and Lavallette School District for Seaside Park students in grades K-6. Students in public school for seventh through twelfth grades attend the schools of the Central Regional School District, which also serves students from the municipalities of Berkeley Township, Island Heights, Ocean Gate and Seaside Heights.
